There is an abandoned house near me with a very similar support system. The vertical support is not a 12x12 like it is in this shot, but rather a stack of fireplace logs end on end. I didn't dare venture into it to photograph it, but I did take a PNS from the safety of the basement window to use as an object lesson about the safety of photographing abandoned places. I will see if I can find it and email it to you.
Wow. I see it as a color still life that first thing lead my thoughts to Irving Penn's black and white still life images. I can't be overly bothered with any symbolism. It is a stunningly well put together composition.
