"...he's channeling ghosts - Fitzgerald, Chandler, even Bukowski..."
A very nice, eight page, seven photo review of my book is in the Summer issue of Boom, a magazine published by the University of California. Written by long-time LA Times and LA Weekly journalist and now a professor at Loyola Marymount, Lynell George, you can find it, I'm told, at bookstores all over town. (I found mine at Barnes & Noble.)
Not online, sorry to say.

Congratulations. You deserve the applause.
Channeling ghosts...two days after you post the "Psychic" photo...very clever, my friend. Very clever indeed! :)
Truly, the eternal summer version of LA is shattered by the likes of the ones you're compared to, I'm a reader, and by you. Since I started to visit your blog my visual view of LA has changed. I've never lived in LA, I'm a New Yorker, but I've visited many times, mostly to shoot commercials, so my LA is Santa Monica, Hermosa Beach, Venice and a clogged freeway, fancy restaurants and cool music clubs. Only twice have I been "down town". Your work is brilliant.
I think it's really interesting and cool that you were sighted for "channeling" these stunning writers rather than other photographers. You are exploring modern terrains on a deep level. I still think you are extremely brave...
Ah, shucks
Kevin, even Buk?
(Too bad he ain't here to write something gritty about yr book!)
I've said before that you're a poet. Comparing your photography to great writing is apt praise.
So happy for you brother. As someone once said, the world would be a lot less beautiful without praise. We can do the work without it, but it sure makes it feel more worthwhile doing.
