K, I haven't lived in LA in over a decade or visited in half a decade and yet I feel like I've seen this woman, (and the earlier portrait of Kyle), that they were familiar to me from my time there. Maybe it's because in these portraits they're so amazingly alive! (Kyle reminds me of that roller skating guy who used to be in that park where Santa Monica Blvd. crosses Wilshire (I think it was) at the Western edge of the Beverly Hills commercial district. Could it be?
That is one of the greatest things about Kevin's portraits...they communicate. It is actually pretty easy to create a good portrait. But to get it to communicate is another thing entirely. This is one for the next book, that's for sure. :)

love the bandana and color tone of this picture
Is she sadly weary or is she half winking? What a face.

Great portrait! I feel like I would like to meet this woman.
Oh K, you really must let the rest of us in on how you manage to capture someone's actual soul in a photo.
I love your portraits. And this one in particular.
What a wonderful portrait . Such eyes.

Great portrait LA
the weird thing with this portrait is that although it's an old face with as many wrinkles as there are roads in LA it's also a child's face...
She looks radiant.
