There is this place I pass, on one of my alternate routes, catching the 210 freeway. It's an apartment building that cozies up to the freeway onramp. And I think about the noise, and the gas fumes. And the cementness of the outside. But every holiday, they have the pumpkin, or the turkey flag, or the Christmas lights. Someone, probably many someones, have found something warm and cozy inside.
