Woman Ordering Food [2008]

Many thanks to Jack Riley of WPRK for his two on-air reviews of "East of West LA" in which "Woman Ordering Food" is included. Someday I may have the skills to upload one of them here.

Man With Infected Nose (Ward)

(July 2010)

A bad cold (flu?) has kept me from doing just about everything for the past week so for the next several days I'll be posting some "Greatest Hits."

David's Feet (Frostbite)

Originally, I wasn't going to post this photo, which I took two months ago, as it's just too raw. But the other morning I was out taking photos and David recognized me before I recognized him.

And he remembered my name.

A sweet but damaged man who last night probably had another cold night's sleep.

Occupy LA, 1:00 am

There were plenty of bullhorns and anger last night at City Hall but there were also group discussions as to civil disobedience, prayer circles and, of course, candles.

Our Lady of Angels

In the way of offering an unsolicited plug on behalf of someone I've never met, I'm reading and enjoying "A Listening Thing" by William Michaelian.

"After stopping off for an ultra-cheap battery made by a no-name company that will be out of business before the warranty expires, we headed for the freeway."

To my mind, the narrator, Stephen Monroe, is half Bartelby, half Occupy Wall Street.

(By the way, although I had no idea until googling it, the full title of Melville's short story is "Bartelby The Scrivener: A Story of Wall Street.")
