Its called 5 Points because five streets intersect there, just to the left of the photo. Its in Boyle Hts. and the main road is Cesar Chavez Blvd., which incidently is Sunset Blvd on the west side of LA. There's also a small park with a memorial to Mexican American soldiers who died in World War II in front of the market.
In Chicago, they do a very intelligent thing. They give some streets "honorary names", with special street signs in a different color, but for practical purposes, the street retains its original name.
