Do I Have Any Technical Skills Whatsoever?

No, I do not.

A week ago I had, but have since lost, the ability to post photos. This evening, after two hours of crossing & uncrossing wires, installing multi-hued ink cartridges, I have a printer/scanner with, ironically enough, a "Head Alignment" problem.

The only thing I can operate is a keyboard, so until further notice, I'm returning to a text-only blog. Yes, this definitely is a setback in regards to my goal of getting "The Jimson Weed Gazette" listed on LA Blog but sometimes wit & perseverance triumph over fancy-schamcy digitally uploaded pictographs.

Is there a tv show I enjoy more than "Rescue Me"?

No, there is not.

Take My Word For It.

Three trips up to Franklin Canyon in twenty four hours. Several photos of jimson weed, coyotes and ponderosa pines, none of which are "uploadable" by me.

Nor have I been able to add any links which, I am told, makes my site look like that of a novice's. Here's one that I've added the old-fashioned way: http://www.aldaily.com.

Music listened on the way to and from the canyon (which after all, is only six miles away) - Bob Dylan ("John Wesley Harding" and "The Basement Tapes"), Peter Tosh and David Bowie.

My last thought for the moment is that a blog's "Spell-Check" should include the word "blog."

I Don't Know What The Problem Is.

This morning I went to the park in Franklin Canyon and was walking in a field when a woman with a strong European accent yelled something to me that I couldn't understand. But because she looked like she might know, I asked her if the plant I was walking towards was a Jimson Weed.

She said, "Yes, but watch out for the snakes."

Until five days ago I had no idea what a jimson weed was or what it looked like. But when you are driving north on Route 2 into the Angeles National Park and the phrase "The Jimson Weed Gazette" jumps into your head, you start paying attention to some things and not paying attention to other things, like snakes.

So I took a few more pictures with the intention of showing them here.

For some reason, however, I can't post a single Jimson Weed picture. And I don't know what the problem is.

I've had coffee. I've made my bed.

7:30 am. There are no new comments from anyone so it's off to Franklin Canyon Reservoir to take a few pictures.

9:14 a.m.

In the past week I've purchased a printer/scanner, took a day trip to the Angeles National Park, bought a five pixel camera, meditated, received a polarity treatment and created this blogsite. At the moment I'm listening to "Waiting For My Man (Velvet Underground) with a Charles Laughton pirate movie on tv (no sound).

And I have to be at work in 16 minutes.

Take the 210 to the 2 North

If you live in Los Angeles, you are probably within sixty miles of the Angeles National Park.

On Sunday, August 21, 2005, it looked like this:

This is only a test, right?

A lot of things don't matter in this world and a person's first blog entry is one of them.
