These portraits are leaving me a little breathless and sad. You always capture a little detail that speaks to our shared humanity. For me its not the bible in this one but that hat.
So many photographers make specimens out of the impoverished. Too often there is a kind of invisible barrier between the photographer and the subject -- with the homeless or disenfranchised being just that, subjects. You always present people with such dignity and grace.
