Nice touch. It looks like vintage packaging too - had that can been there a coupla decades?!
I can't tell you how many cans of jack mackerel I have eaten. I think I lived off nothing but that and rice and cheese for about 6 years. In retrospect I suppose it is odd that a "skid row still life" should bring back fond memories, but there you have it.
So someone was eating that. And you found it there like that, some time later, on that cement step with the leaves around it.This is the thing about a good photograph. With a simple image you've started stories swirling in my head.
